Of course it’s worth all the buzz here are a few features of the IOS 9 that you probably don’t know about yet.
culled from The Verge see below:-

Phone Number Lookup

In IOS 9, your iPhone can pull data from the native Mail app to suggest who might be calling when an unknown call comes in. The same works for outgoing calls: the other day I dug around in my email to find a phone number for someone who wasn’t in my Contacts, and later on noticed in the outgoing call log that the phone had correctly identified who the person was with a “Maybe” in front of her name.

Searching Settings

The settings menu on iOS has always been a chore to navigate, but with iOS 9 you finally won’t have to suffer through three, four, or five taps just to do something simple like manage your location services. One quick swipe down from the top of the settings menu lets you search for any one of the myriad settings that are typically buried, meaning you can get back to texting or scrolling through Twitter faster than ever.

Here is the statement as published in google’s official blog:

Google has changed a lot over the past 17 years—from the range of our products to the evolution of their look and feel. And today we’re changing things up once again: So why are we doing this now? Once upon a time, Google was one destination that you reached from one device: a desktop PC.

These days, people interact with Google products across many different platforms, apps and devices—sometimes all in a single day. You expect Google to help you whenever and wherever you need it, whether it’s on your mobile phone, TV, watch, the dashboard in your car, and yes, even a desktop! Today we’re introducing a new logo and identity family that reflects this reality and shows you when the Google magic is working for you, even on the tiniest screens. As you’ll see, we’ve taken the Google logo and branding, which were originally built for a single desktop browser page, and updated them for a world of seamless computing across an endless number of devices and different kinds of inputs (such as tap, type and talk).

facebooklive video

Facebook is taking the plunge into live video.

The social network announced it will allow public figures to broadcast live video through Facebook Mentions, an app celebrities can use to share information with fans of their official Pages.

Broadcasts are limited to public figures, but Facebook users can comment on feeds, like them or share videos with friends. Users can also see when their friends joined a live broadcast.

“Live is an immersive and authentic way to connect with the public figures you care about, in real-time,” says Facebook product manager Vadim Lavrusik.

Celebrities including Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Serena Williams and Martha Stewart are among the first to share live videos through Mentions.

Microsoft has finally released its long awaited Windows 10 operating system to users in 190 countries. The roll out is currently staggered and while others may have already had it downloading on their machines as early as on the date of official release, not everyone is getting it that first. If you already reserved your spot using the ‘Get Windows 10′ app some time back then you’re in line to get it and it may already have downloaded on your machine or it is already downloading at the moment.

I reserved my spot but I’m yet to get the update?

You are not alone. We’ll help with that in a few. The update is rolling out in phases. In certain instances, it will take a while before several other requirements have been met. For instance Microsoft needs to make sure that all your current drivers will work just fine once you upgrade. Windows 10 may have already downloaded on your machine but those requirements could be holding you back. Oh, and some free storage space. You need at least 16 GB on your installation hard drive (for the 32 bit version. The 64 bit version needs at least 20 GB).

You need to have enabled automatic download and installation of updates for this to happen though. In case you already did all that and there’s no evidence of it downloading when you check the C:\$Windows.~BT folder then you could probably try forcing the same. Here’s how to do that:

1. Make sure you have turned on the ability to view hidden files and folders

2. Navigate to C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download (Assuming that your Windows installation is on Drive C. You’ll need to change that if it’s different)

3. Delete everything in that folder

4. Run the Command Prompt with elevated privileges/superuser rights/as an administrator

5. Type wuauclt.exe /updatenow into the Command Prompt but don’t hit enter just yet

6. Fire up Windows Update and click on Check for update

7. Go back to the Command Prompt window and hit enter

8. You should see something like this on the Windows Update window:

With the world virtually going crazy on innovations…We cannot but help to take a quick look at the above mentioned subject matter of how technology might change sex in the future. Note the word “might” as used above. Sex and Technology in the world now have become inseparable, Technology has promoted sex in an astounding way. However, this little piece of information is  not a conclusion. continue…

Sex is as old as humanity itself, necessary to our continuation as a species, perhaps even to what makes us fundamentally us. We’re talking, of course, about inventing new stuff. Jeez. Get your mind out of the gutter. Actually, there is no question that sex has evolved along with technology, from condoms to vibrators to sexting. So, how will our sex lives be different in a year? Or in 10 years? Or in even 20 to 30 years? We can’t be absolutely certain.  Peep below:

1. Guys Could Have a (Non-Condom) Birth Control Option:- A new injection that acts as a temporary vasectomy for men, won’t protect against STDs — but in trials with baboons, it had 100% effectiveness in preventing pregnancy. The technology could be “on the market in 2016-2017,” but for those of you who can’t wait (and don’t mind a needle in a very sensitive area), human trials “start in early 2015.” In related news, the days of girls exclusively being the ones who have to remember to pop a pill may soon be drawing to a close. Researchers in Indonesia have reportedly discovered that Justica gendarussa, a plant that’s common there, is 99% percent effective as birth control for men. It doesn’t alter male hormones, and may even increase libido. Don’t expect it stateside in the immediate future, but eager dudes could seek it out in Indonesia this year (although, we don’t recommend it).

In June, The Electronic Frontier Foundation released its Who Has Your Back? 2015: Protecting Your Data From Government Requests report. The report  analyzes technology companies and their information  disclosure and collection policies as well as highlighting best practices. The companies then receive a star for each area where they scored highly. The report offers ratings based on metrics of best practices for security, publicly opposing back doors, disclosing government data demands, content removal requests, and making data retention policies public.

In 2013, A New York District Attorney’s office served warrants on Facebook seeking information on various Facebook users, who were later indicted for various crimes including fraud. Facebook resisted the attempts by the government arguing that honoring such requests would set a precedent thereby jeopardizing the privacy of Facebook users. Major tech companies including Google and Microsoft backed Facebook’s claim. Facebook honored the requests in  2014 after a court threw out its claims but went on to appeal the ruling.

In a ruling likely to set a precedent as feared, a Court has ruled the social networking site cannot appeal  against search warrants and that only the individual targets can challenge these warrants. This means Facebook has to honor the warrants for user data once issued. The initial warrant sought to apply to 381 users’ photos, private messages and other account information. Facebook is however considering appealing the decision.

In the report, Facebook was one of the highest ranked companies in terms of keeping user information private and from the government. In line with its requirements, Facebook requires a warrant before turning over user content but which has to abide by its law enforcement guide and transparency report.

ZTE ‘s newest smartphone, named Axon will be the first to have Corning’s new innovation which is the antimicrobial Gorilla Glass.

Although the antimicrobial Gorilla Glass is not new, it was announced last year though but no device has adopted the “new” innovation until now. The antimicrobial Gorilla Glass is as the name antimicrobial implies, responsible for killing micro organisms that inhibit growth found on the surface of your phone.

Silver ions known to have antibacterial properties are infused with chemically-strengthened Gorilla Glass. These ions now provide the extra level of protection as they kill of any germs on the display surface of the phone.

Now that’s some real cool stuff 🙂
